About the role

The Town of Prescott Valley is seeking a qualified individual to manage the Streets and Stormwater Division. This position oversees the planning, design, construction, and maintenance of the Town’s streets, stormwater systems, and related infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and coordinate the activities of the Streets and Stormwater Division, including street maintenance, stormwater management, and capital improvement projects.
  • Develop, implement, and manage the division’s annual budget and long-term financial plans.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including environmental and safety standards.
  • Prepare and present reports, recommendations, and updates to the Town Manager, Council, and other stakeholders.
  • Oversee the design, construction, and maintenance of streets, sidewalks, drainage systems, and related infrastructure.
  • Coordinate with other departments, agencies, and contractors to ensure efficient project delivery.
  • Manage staff, including hiring, training, evaluating, and disciplining employees.
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and best practices for the division.
  • Respond to citizen inquiries, complaints, and requests related to streets and stormwater issues.
  • Monitor industry trends, technologies, and innovations to improve division operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Public Administration, or a related field.
  • Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in municipal engineering, public works, or a related field, including at least two (2) years in a supervisory or management role.
  • Valid Arizona Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within six (6) months of hire.
  • Knowledge of municipal infrastructure, including streets, stormwater systems, and related regulations.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant engineering software.
  • Valid Arizona driver’s license and ability to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) within six (6) months of hire, if required.

Pay

$85,000 - $105,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
