LifeFamily Learning Center is a fully licensed and certified early-childhood program dedicated to compassionate, nurturing care for babies, toddlers, and preschoolers. We provide safe classrooms, highly qualified teachers, and engaging lessons that build social skills, motor skills, and self-confidence.

About the role

The Lead/Assistant Teacher helps children prepare for school academically and socially through age-appropriate lesson plans, effective developmental materials, and positive behavior reinforcement. Teachers must be willing and able to work with children ages 6 weeks to 5 years old.

We seek teachers who have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and are passionate about leading Bible lessons, prayer, and sharing Christ’s love with children.

Responsibilities

  • Perform opening and closing duties based on schedule
  • Greet children and families warmly; address parent concerns upon arrival
  • Maintain a safe, clean classroom environment
  • Follow Texas Rising Star Child Care Regulation Minimum Standards and Accreditation Criteria
  • Create and post developmentally appropriate lesson plans weekly or bi-weekly
  • Prepare and facilitate daily activities
  • Guide and discipline children using center policies, fostering self-esteem and healthy social-emotional growth
  • Perform posted disinfecting and hygiene routines
  • Supervise children during restroom breaks, naptime, transitions, and arrival/departure
  • Complete all classroom forms: lesson plans, incident/illness reports, medication permissions, and child assessments
  • Maintain accurate child counts and ratios at all times
  • Actively engage with children, encouraging and facilitating learning
  • Monitor and communicate classroom and individual child supply needs to the Director and parents
  • Provide daily individual reports to parents
  • Conduct parent meetings professionally to discuss child progress
  • Maintain positive rapport with families; respond promptly to inquiries and requests
  • Stay with children during late pick-ups; collect a $1-per-minute late fee in cash from parents
  • Report suspected child abuse or neglect as mandated by Child Protective Services
  • Limit cell phone use to emergencies; secure a floater to supervise the room when answering calls
  • Conduct fire and storm drills as required by state law
  • Coordinate and supervise Assistant Teachers and Floaters in the classroom

Requirements

  • 18 years or older
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2+ years of childcare experience
  • Pass fingerprinting and background check
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification
  • Available Monday–Friday, 7:00 am–6:00 pm
