Preschool Teacher

About the role

Preschool and Pre‑K Teachers will help prepare preschool‑age children for kindergarten. Young children learn from playing, questioning and experimenting. Teachers use play and other instructional techniques to help children's development, such as storytelling, rhyming games, sandbox collaboration, block counting, and creative activities like art, dance and music. Creative Kids uses the Creative Curriculum and participates in Mixed Delivery and VQB5/CLASS Observations.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and monitor the safety of children
• Prepare and organize mealtimes and snacks for children
• Help children maintain good hygiene
• Change diapers of infants and toddlers
• Organize activities or implement a curriculum that allows children to learn about the world and explore their interests
• Develop schedules and routines to ensure adequate physical activity, rest, and playtime
• Watch for signs of emotional or developmental problems and notify parents or guardians
• Keep records of children’s progress, routines, and interests

Requirements

• At least one school year of experience teaching Preschool and/or Pre‑K
• Preferred: CDA, Associate’s, Bachelor of Education, or related field
• Ongoing professional development available for candidates who want to grow, learn, and advance
