Preschool Paraprofessional

Available for the 2026-2027 school year at Studebaker Preschool.

Pay

$19.07 - $25.75 per hour

Schedule

• 7 hours per day
• 186 days per year

Responsibilities

• Assist preschool-age children with disabilities (ages 3–5 years), including diapering/potty training and assisting children to and from the bus
• Work with individual or small groups of students per teacher direction
• Assist in preparation of preschool activities (e.g., cutting, gluing)
• Lifting may be required (e.g., mobility support, transitioning from wheelchair or walker to floor/seat)
• Follow accommodations and instructional activities as defined and directed by the classroom teacher
• Complete district-provided training based on student needs, including CPR and delegated nursing tasks (e.g., medication and health management)
• Obtain an up-to-date physical as required
• Provide academic assistance to students in regular and special education classroom environments
• Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills with classroom and intervention teachers
• Establish and maintain positive rapport with students, parents, and colleagues
• Assist students with identified disabilities, including physical and cognitive needs in preacademic, academic, and personal care
• Provide support individually, in small groups, or large groups, including resource rooms and classroom environments

Requirements

• High school diploma
• Must meet ESEA Qualified and Highly Qualified criteria as defined by No Child Left Behind (district-provided training and assistance available for current employees)
