About the role

Athletes is seeking a part-time Preschool Martial Arts instructor for our Karate Zoo program. The program teaches the FUNdamentals, and if you love working with kids, this could be the perfect fit!

Responsibilities

• Lead and teach our non-competitive Karate Zoo program to children 3 to 6 years old at preschools and daycares.
• Deliver our ready-made curriculums and extensive training to get up to speed quickly.
• Ensure every child has success through individual attention and a non-competitive approach.
• Create a stress-free environment by using positive reinforcement and creative games.
• Use positive reinforcement and creative games to keep kids excited and engaged.
• Attend ongoing workshops and embrace feedback from senior staff to improve your skills.

Requirements

• Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license, as you will be driving to different locations in downtown Chicago.
• Availability from now through fall 2025 and beyond.
• A big, outgoing personality and genuine love for kids.
• Comfort coaching ages 2-10 (experience as a coach, camp counselor, teacher, sitter, etc. a plus).
• Passion for karate and readiness to learn age-appropriate drills.
• Clear, friendly communication skills.
• Willingness to pass a background check.

Schedule

• All classes are held during the morning hours.
• The ideal candidate would be available during the days and times listed below:
• Monday - Friday: 9:00am - 11:30am
