Preschool Lead Teacher
About the role
You will be responsible for creating and implementing a curriculum that fosters the intellectual, emotional, social, and physical development of young children in a nurturing environment. Your role will focus on engaging young learners through hands-on activities and fostering positive relationships with families to support their children's growth. Collaboration with colleagues, including assistant teachers and support staff, is essential to ensure the highest quality of care and education.
Responsibilities
- Create and implement a curriculum that supports the holistic development of young children.
- Engage young learners through hands-on activities and foster positive relationships with families.
- Plan and implement developmentally appropriate learning experiences that encourage exploration and discovery.
- Maintain a safe, healthy classroom environment for all children.
- Incorporate family involvement in the educational process to enhance children's learning experiences.
- Evaluate children's progress and communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's development.
- Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and classroom management techniques.
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations concerning early childhood education.
- Collaborate with educational support staff to facilitate children's learning and development.
- Complete required assessments and maintain accurate documentation of each child's progress.
- Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities.
Requirements
- Associates degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field, with at least 9 credit hours in Early Childhood Education.
- A minimum of one year of experience working with children aged 3 to 5 years.
- Ability to lift and move up to 30 pounds as necessary for classroom activities.
Preferred qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field with necessary course credits.
- Fluency in both English and Spanish is a plus.
