Preschool Infant/Toddler Teacher - Finksburg (Chipmunks)

About the role

The Infant/Toddler Teacher position at the Y in Central Maryland is integral to our mission of fostering early learning, healthy development, and future success for our youngest participants.

Responsibilities

• Create a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for infants and toddlers aged 6 weeks to 3 years.
• Implement responsive caregiving, meaningful interactions, and developmentally appropriate experiences to support social-emotional, cognitive, physical, and language development.
• Foster strong partnerships with families through regular communication and collaboration.
• Adhere to The Code of Conduct with Youth to ensure a safe and respectful environment for young people.
• Report any suspected mistreatment of youth in accordance with legal requirements.

Requirements

• Passion for working with infants and toddlers and supporting their earliest stages of development.
• Patient, warm, good judgment, flexibility, and a positive attitude.
• The ability to clearly communicate and effectively listen to children, families, members, and fellow Y associates.
• Knowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate practices for children ages 0-3.
• At least 1 year of early childhood education or licensed childcare experience.
• A High School Diploma or GED.
• Maryland 90-Hour Child Care Certification.

Qualifications

• Pass the Y’s background check.
• Complete the Y’s mandatory training on child abuse prevention.
