About the Role

Under the direction of the School Director, the preschool floater plays a vital role in supporting the daily operations of the school. Responsibilities include covering teacher breaks and lunch periods, assisting in classrooms as needed, maintaining a clean and organized environment, preparing classroom materials, and providing support to teachers and children throughout the day. The ideal candidate is flexible, dependable, energetic, and enjoys working with children of all ages while ensuring a safe, nurturing, and well-organized learning environment.

Responsibilities

  • Cover teacher breaks and lunch periods
  • Assist in classrooms as needed
  • Maintain a clean and organized environment
  • Prepare classroom materials
  • Provide support to teachers and children throughout the day

Requirements

  • Ability to follow licensing regulations, school policies, and health and safety procedures
  • Physical ability to lift up to 40 pounds, bend, kneel, and actively engage with children throughout the day
  • Must meet minimum experience and education requirements for the state of employment
  • Previous experience in an early childhood or group care setting is preferred
  • Must meet all state licensing qualifications for the state of Florida to work in a child care center
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required background clearances and health screenings

Qualifications

  • 45 DCF Child Care Training Hours

Schedule

Flexibility is essential. Schedules may change based on enrollment, staffing ratios, or operational needs. Work schedules may vary and are not guaranteed to be eight-hour shifts. Daily start and end times may vary and cannot be guaranteed. The role typically requires availability from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Pay

Hourly Pay Rate: $15.00 - $18.20
