About the role

We are seeking a motivated and skilled Diesel Mechanic Technician to join our second-shift team. In this role, you will perform diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance on heavy-duty diesel engines and equipment, ensuring our fleet operates at peak performance.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, and air brake systems using schematics and mechanical knowledge.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire service, brake repairs, wheel alignments, and shocks & struts replacement.
  • Fabricate parts or components as needed using power tools, welding equipment, and hand tools to ensure proper fit and function.
  • Operate heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractor-trailers safely and efficiently during repairs or testing.
  • Use automotive diagnostics tools to identify issues with electrical systems, HVAC units, or other industrial equipment.
  • Read and interpret schematics for complex machinery repairs; follow safety protocols during all service procedures.
  • Maintain detailed service records, logs, and reports for all work performed to ensure compliance and traceability.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a diesel mechanic or heavy equipment technician; fleet experience preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a diesel mechanic and heavy equipment technician.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge of heavy machinery including farm machinery, industrial equipment, and automotive repair.
  • Skilled in fabrication, welding, soldering, and the use of power tools for custom repairs or modifications.
  • Ability to read schematics accurately and troubleshoot electrical or mechanical issues effectively.
  • Experience with vehicle maintenance procedures such as oil changes, greasing, filter replacements, and other diesel-specific requirements.
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly with clients about repairs and maintenance needs.
  • Physical ability for heavy lifting; comfortable working in various environmental conditions; committed to safety standards at all times.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to work night shift and commute to locations in New Hampshire.
