About the Role

Responsibilities
- Co‑teach a classroom in a cooperative, team setting using organizational strategies and critical thinking skills.
- Value each child as capable, resilient, and rich with wonder; foster curiosity and investigation.
- Implement time‑management and behavior‑management strategies to adhere to daily schedules, including individual and group activities, classroom and playground time, enrichment projects, toileting/diapering, snacks/lunch, and rest/nap periods.
- Use open‑ended questioning, positive redirection, and facilitative classroom skills.
- Design creative, hands‑on activities using sensory and natural materials based on children’s interests.
- Collaborate to complete electronic weekly lesson plans, daily activity reports, child assessments, and documentation.
- Partner daily with parents, infusing values into classroom interactions and activities.
- Conduct parent/educator conferences twice a year.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Fully vaccinated against COVID‑19 (required for all Early Childhood Program staff).
- Ability to learn and incorporate new philosophies and teaching strategies.
- Physical ability to play with children, including standing, walking, lifting up to 35 lb., bending, and sitting on the floor.
- Team‑oriented collaborative work style.
- Proficiency with iPads/computers for daily reports and parent communication, or ability to learn quickly.
- Positive attitude, self‑motivated.
- Passion for creativity, values‑based learning, and constructivist educational philosophy.
- Pass all required criminal background checks (may include FBI fingerprint check).
- Adherence to the organization’s mission, core values, and HR policies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Child Development Associate (CDA) credential, degree in Education, or college coursework in child development.
- 1+ years of experience in Early Childhood Education.
- Relevant experience or degrees in related fields.
