Preschool Assistant Teacher

About the role

This position requires that a highly qualified early childhood teacher implement a curriculum with children who have typical and atypical development and deliver a developmentally appropriate program with attention to the standards of the BK early childhood curriculum, state licensing requirements, and NAEYC standards. The position will plan and implement a model preschool program for an inclusive group of preschool children that complies with all health, safety, and educational best practices for young children; supervise and mentor undergraduate students assigned to the classroom for observation and practicum experiences; complete assessment and other reports as needed; and provide service to the profession, community, and university.

Responsibilities

• Implement a curriculum with children who have typical and atypical development
• Deliver a developmentally appropriate program aligned with BK early childhood curriculum, state licensing requirements, and NAEYC standards
• Plan and implement a model preschool program for an inclusive group of preschool children
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and educational best practices for young children
• Supervise and mentor undergraduate students assigned to the classroom for observation and practicum experiences
• Complete assessment and other reports as needed
• Provide service to the profession, community, and university

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalency and one year of related childcare experience
• Equivalent combination of training and experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Successful experience in a high quality childcare program

• Monday – Friday
• 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
