Preschool Assistant Teacher

About the role

Weinberg Early Learning Center is seeking a creative, energetic, nurturing, dedicated, patient, dependable, and professional teacher who loves working with infants or toddlers. The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years of experience working with babies aged 12 weeks to 12 months, 12-18 months, or 18-24 months.

Responsibilities

• Hold, rock, sing to, smile at, and explore the world with infants
• Conduct tummy time for or activities to strengthen large gross motor/muscle development
• Lead individual and small group experiences
• Spend time outside to connect with nature
• Provide a feeling of security
• Stimulate language development
• Encourage intellectual development
• Provide parents with daily reports

Requirements

• CDA; advanced degrees preferred
• Early childhood education experience, preferably with infants
• Speak, read, and write English fluently
• CPR and 1st Aid Certifications (or willingness to obtain these)
• Must be able to adapt to continuously changing, fast-paced environment, and make the children's needs your primary focus
• Must be able to kneel, stoop, squat, and stand for a majority of the day
• Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds
• Pass state background check

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a passion for early childhood education and a strong commitment to the welfare of infants and toddlers. They should be able to work independently and as part of a team, and be able to manage multiple tasks effectively.

Skills

• Effective communication skills
• Play-based curriculum knowledge
• Babysitting or childcare experience
• Experience with baby sign language, infant yoga, music, art, science, motion, and storytelling
• Knowledge of Jewish teachings and practices
