Responsibilities

• Captures ingredient measurements and Oracle transactions, following a batch record.
• Maintains quality and efficiency standards by reducing scrap loss and improving yield through accurate inventory accounting.
• Communicates verbally and in writing to ensure quality and efficiency standards are met.
• Coordinates master sanitation for the pre-scale area.
• Understands Kosher vs. Non-Kosher requirements.
• Ensures scales are calibrated daily, working with QA.
• Monitors the mixing operation to ensure ingredients are correct through the staging and mixing process.
• Performs quality checks to ensure standards are met.
• Works with management and QA for items needed for release.
• Assists other production team members during breaks and absences.
• Wears appropriate PPE when required.
• Communicates effectively with warehouse, process operators, and supervisors regarding delays or problems in the mix area.
• Assists maintenance technicians during repairs in the work area.
• Maintains a clean and organized work area and assists with general housekeeping.
• Maintains effective communication with support group members using handheld radios.
• Trains and coaches employees as requested by management.
• Evaluates situations and makes good decisions.
• Inventory raw ingredients as needed.

Quality

• Adheres to all Quality Assurance System guidelines.
• Fulfills SOPs and SSOPs (Standard Operating Procedures and Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures) for processing adjustments.
• Prepares and maintains processing area documentation.
• Writes legibly and completely fills out all documents, signing the operator's name on each document.
• Identifies critical control points (CCPs) and understands their functions.

Safety

• Adheres to all plant safety rules.
• Reports near misses and accidents to the production supervisor and/or HR representative.
• Participates in monthly safety inspections and reports potential safety hazards to the safety committee or management.

Maintenance

• Assists maintenance technicians in repairing equipment when needed.

Housekeeping

• Maintains a clean and organized work area.
• Aids in general housekeeping across the plant.
• Collaborates with other shifts and management teams in housekeeping efforts.

Teamwork and Training

• Promotes and contributes to a strong team environment.
• Trains and coaches employees as requested by management.

Additional Considerations

• Location: SunOpta plant in Midlothian, TX.
• Shift: Day shift (A) from 6 am to 6:30 pm on a 2-2-3 pattern.
• Pay Rate: $25.80/hour.
