Presales CAD Engineer
Responsibilities
- Reading and understanding RFP and tender documents
- Reading and understanding customer requirements provided by SA and sales team
- Concept design of data center architecture and equipment
- Understanding of relevant architectural and structural codes and standards
- CAD Modeling
- Understanding passive fire protection design and requirements
- Coordination with other technical disciplines (HVAC, electrical, controls, fire protection)
- Dimensioning and specification of structural and architectural parts of the modular building
- Technical project coordination with customers and suppliers
- Communication with customers in order to propose the best solution
- Making technical proposals for Vertiv modular solutions data centers
- Providing design documents
- Problem solving and interpretation of customer requirements in proposed solutions
- Support SA and sales team
- Solution-based thinking that will incorporate a multitude of Structural and Mechanical components to an end-customer deployment
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or equivalent degree in Structural Engineering
- Minimum 3 years of design experience
- Proficient in structural and mechanical system design including end user interface applications
- Strong CAD capabilities including the ability to represent site, structural and system layouts, as well as custom designs and associated pre-fabricated data center infrastructure systems
- Solution-based thinking that will incorporate a multitude of Mechanical and Electrical components to an end-customer deployment
- Solid communication skills, both written and oral, to work across multiple Engineering and Manufacturing teams to bring architectures and concepts to deployment
- PC skills: active user of Windows, MS Office incl. Excel (A), Word (A), AutoCAD
- Key skills are- CAD 2D design experience is a must. Revit or any 3D modelling software is a preference. Experience in civil/construction/architecture (traditional or modular) is preferred.
