Primary Responsibilities
- Grab and Stack Swatches on a pallet or strips of carpet on buggies as they come off the Cut Tables.
- Scan barcodes on travelers of the cut swatches or strips to pallet tags with a scan gun for tracking purposes.
- Help Cut Table Operator fill out the necessary paperwork for what material is being processed.
- Operate and Set-up Large Beveling machine to clean up the edges of the Large Swatches.
- Operate the computer and backstamp printer on the Large Beveler to apply backstamps to the back of all Mezzanine (MEZZ) swatches for identification of material.
- Operate the Hand Beveler to clean up the edges of the swatches for any Swatch size that will not go through a Large Beveler.
- Operate Computer and Set-up Small Beveling Machine to clean up the edges of Small Swatches.
- Check Quality of all swatches as they are being processed and notify Bevel Technician of any quality issues.
- Apply Labels to a variety of different sizes of Swatches and check printed labels matches printed paperwork.
- Operate and set up automatic and Manual Hole Punches for any Swatches that require a hole.
- Apply Backstamps, Grass Tags, or Room Scenes to any Small Mezz swatches.
- Communicating with lead/supervisor on job assignments and any issues during the shift.
- Complete paperwork such as Shortage papers.
- Operate a computer in most areas to record Production Logs.
- Empty Lint system bags for both Large and Small Beveling areas.
- Absorb any other duties found necessary to aid in a safe and efficient operation as directed by the Lead or Supervisor.
Position Requirements
- Must be able to comprehend and record information on paper and on a computer.
- Operate scan guns and computers.
- Must possess effective communication skills.
- Must take lockout/tagout (LOTO) and fall protection classes and demonstrate knowledge of these classes.
- Must comply with all Corporate Policies.
- Must adhere to the normal schedule, starting and stopping times and breaktimes.
- Must be able to meet production standards.
- Must be able to use basic math skills and be able to use a counting device.
- Must be able to read and use a measuring device.
Preferred Requirements
- Ability to write legibly.
- Previous experience using computers.
- Previous experience using measuring device.
Working Conditions
- Frequently bend, reach, kneel, and squat while moving material.
- Able to push a loaded buggy/pallet jack requiring up to 35 lbs. of force.
- Must be able to stand/sit for up to 2 hours at a time between breaks.
- Able to lift 10 to 30 lbs. repeatedly throughout the shift with a maximum up to 50 lbs.
- Able to force the handle of a pallet jack down to lift a pallet, requiring approx. 17 lbs. of force.
- Continuous use of hands, arms, and legs throughout the shift.
- Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment.
- Must be able to withstand changes in temperature and humidity.
- Must be able to work in a noisy environment.
