Responsibilities
- Wash, chop, slice, portion, and prepare ingredients according to recipes, prep sheets, and chef direction.
- Assist with the preparation of menu components including flatbreads, salads, seafood items, steak accompaniments, sauces, dressings, and garnishes.
- Label, stock, date, and rotate food items using proper storage procedures and FIFO practices.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked prep station throughout the shift.
- Support line cooks and chefs by ensuring ingredients and supplies are ready for service.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely, including slicers, mixers, food processors, and knives.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards at all times.
- Absorb and assist with receiving deliveries, checking product quality, and storing items properly.
- Help with opening, closing, and general kitchen cleaning duties, including dishwashing and waste removal when needed.
- Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining consistency, urgency, and attention to detail.
Qualifications
- Previous prep cook, kitchen, or food preparation experience preferred.
- Basic knife skills and understanding of food handling and kitchen safety practices.
- Ability to follow recipes, prep lists, and verbal instructions accurately.
- Strong organization skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize in a busy kitchen.
- Team-oriented mindset and willingness to assist wherever needed.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and safely lift up to 50 pounds.
- Passion for hospitality, quality food, and creating a great guest experience from behind the scenes.
