About the role

Mystic Café is a lively restaurant and coffeehouse in downtown Lewiston. We seek a dynamic and enthusiastic Kitchen Staff member to join our team.

Responsibilities

• Aid in the preparation of various food items according to recipes
• Work collaboratively with the team
• Clean the kitchen area, including equipment, refrigerators, freezers, and storage areas
• Inform supervisors about kitchen equipment needs or replacements
• Properly handle, store, and label cooked food and items
• Verify and report discrepancies on computer printouts for menu amounts and recipes
• Perform other related kitchen duties as directed by supervisors

Requirements

• Experience in a reputable restaurant or hotel with a culinary and hospitality focus (or willingness to learn)
• A strong work ethic and commitment to quality
• A team-oriented approach and calm demeanor under pressure
• Effective communication skills and respectful behavior
• Willingness to cross-train into different areas and roles within Happy Day restaurants
• Maintain high standards for work areas and personal appearance
• A positive attitude and dedication to excellence
• Flexibility with scheduling, including weekends, evenings, and holidays
• Access to reliable transportation

Qualifications

• Ability to follow recipes and prepare food items accurately
• Good organizational skills to manage kitchen tasks efficiently
• Knowledge of proper food handling and sanitation practices
• Basic computer skills to verify and report on food usage
