Preop/PACU RN Full-Time (36 hours per week)

About the role

Assists in provision of nursing care to patients in a fast-paced Total Joint Replacement Ambulatory Surgical Center. Assumes total responsibility for patient care in accordance with physician's orders and center policies.

Responsibilities

• Works with two operating rooms, serving 7-8 patients per day, usually with one surgeon.
• Manages seven pre‑op/PACU bays assigned to patients for both phases of care, adjusting assignments as needed.
• Majority of patients receive spinal anesthesia pre‑op; during recovery require post‑op ambulation of 100 feet.
• Provides discharge teaching requiring attention to detail for outpatient population.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current Pennsylvania RN license.
• CPR certification required.
• ACLS certification required.
• Minimum one year of PACU experience.
• ED or critical care experience.
• Orthopaedic experience preferred.

Schedule

Center operates Monday through Friday; shifts start at 05:30 or 07:30; closing shift remains until the last patient is discharged (average 4 pm, may extend based on patient acuity).
