Prentiss Reman Water & Oil Pump Machinist II (1st shift)

About the role

Caterpillar Remanufacturing is seeking a Machining II to join our team in the Booneville, MS facility. This position involves increasing quality checks and decision points, requiring operators to select correct programming and follow basic tool setting procedures.

Responsibilities

• Work in a fast-paced, safety and quality focused environment
• Operate in a team environment
• Use gages, tools, overhead hoists, and other tooling (such as vibratory, cordless and hand tools)
• Interpret blueprints
• Understand torque requirements and processes
• Operate CNC controls/programs
• Operate automated packaging equipment
• Check incoming material and enter data
• Utilize various computer systems including email

Qualifications

• Basic computer experience
• Experience with basic tooling (hand tools, air tools, pneumatic tools, etc.)
• Knowledge of engines and components
• Previous machining experience
• Previous experience reading and interpreting blueprints
• Previous forklift experience
• Prior use of hoists
• Experience using Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Physical Requirements

• Physically demanding at times
• High volume fast pace operation
• Frequent changing temperatures
• Standing for up to 10+ hours per shift
• Wearing proper PPE, including respirator if required

Job Bid Eligibility Requirements

Any current agency workers applying must have worked 300 hours and meet all requirements for the position.

Additional Information

• Compensation & Benefits: Starting hourly pay rate of $19.75, with pay negotiations based on skills/experience. 2nd shift with 7% night shift premium.
• Work Hours: 5AM-3PM (Mon-Thu), 80 hours of vacation, 3 additional days of Paid Time Off (PTO), 10 paid holidays, climate-controlled work environment, 401k match up to 6%, health, dental, vision, and life insurance offered on day 1 of employment.
