About the role

The Premium Suites Lead is responsible for overseeing the serving of guests in all premium and event spaces, including Luxury Suites and Ice Suites, as well as assisting in Catering, Banquets, and Special Events areas at Sioux City venues. This role requires a personable individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and assists the Assistant General Manager with projects such as training, inventory, cost controls, menu development, and special events.

This position pays an hourly rate of $16.75-$20.10 and is tips eligible.

Responsibilities

  • Lead communication with clients and maintain client relationships.
  • Input pre-orders and update BEOS (Banquet Event Order System).
  • Collaborate with Food and Beverage Management to place food and supply orders.
  • Work with the Chef and Kitchen staff to create kitchen prep lists.
  • Serve as the front-of-house (FOH) point of contact for the Kitchen during event days.
  • Lead the setup of food and beverage service areas within premium spaces.
  • Ensure all premium spaces are set according to timelines.
  • Maintain quality and hospitality in all premium areas.
  • Facilitate communication between department counterparts.
  • Forward non-food-and-beverage inquiries to the correct personnel.
  • Monitor and maintain food quality and inventory control.
  • Assist management in upholding policies, safety, sanitation, and a positive atmosphere.
  • Enforce safe alcohol policies and verify guest IDs for alcohol service.
  • Lead beverage service, including alcoholic beverages, and recognize visibly intoxicated guests.
  • Set up premium/event functions, including linens, dishware, glassware, and silverware.
  • Maintain sanitation, health, and safety standards in work areas.
  • Ensure location equipment is operable and clean before events.
  • Enforce all Oak View Group policies and procedures.
  • Assist with training, inventory, and special events as needed.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by managers and supervisors.

Requirements

  • 2-3 years of experience in a fast-paced restaurant or catering environment or applicable education.
  • Lead experience preferred.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Valid food handling certificate or alcohol service permit if required by state/federal regulations.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and respectfully with employees, guests, and management.
  • Ability to work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment.
  • Ability to handle cash accurately and perform basic math functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages).
  • Excellent attendance and availability to work events as scheduled.
