About the role

Leads and delivers a portfolio of change and strategic initiatives for Premier and Branch line of business to support Truist and Consumer & Small Business Banking’s strategic goals. Conceptualizes ideas, translates them into initiatives with clear specifications and functional requirements, and ensures portfolio activities and milestones are achieved on time and within budget while adhering to risk management and governance standards.

Partners with CSBB’s Portfolio Management, Change Governance, and other change management organizations, following documented processes, governance routines, and the change management lifecycle. Navigates a matrix organization, fostering cross-functional partnerships, including direct and indirect leadership. Identifies, measures, monitors, and controls risks associated with business activities in alignment with risk and compliance policies. May lead a team of portfolio or program managers.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage business cases, including financial analysis and risk management.
  • Influence and build consensus across teams and stakeholders.
  • Lead cross-functional teams, including managers, employees, matrixed teams, virtual teams, and third parties.
  • Apply hypothesis-driven problem solving, market research, data analysis, and storytelling to drive initiatives.
  • Utilize strong written communication and executive presentation skills.
  • Leverage MS PowerPoint, Excel, and other tools to support program delivery.

Requirements

  • Strong academic credentials—college degree (MBA preferred).
  • Eight years of experience in consulting, project management, and/or corporate strategy, or equivalent experience and training.
  • Five years of experience in financial services, with deep understanding of industry dynamics, value creation, and technology-driven competitive advantage.
  • Proven problem-solving skills, ability to distill insights from large datasets, and structured thinking.
  • Ability to bring clarity to ambiguous assignments.
  • Demonstrated executive-level verbal and written communication skills.
  • Background in consumer financial services or banking.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Visio, Project).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in a relevant field (e.g., MBA), PMP, and/or PgMP certification.
  • Experience implementing large or complex initiatives across a matrix organization.
  • In-depth knowledge of management and planning systems theory and its practical application.
  • Familiarity with the business unit’s mission and processes.
