About the role
The Para-Educator position is aimed at assisting students in both regular and resource rooms, ensuring their educational needs are met. This role requires a strong commitment to regular attendance and the ability to perform various tasks effectively.
Responsibilities
- Aid students in classroom activities
- Correct papers and record grades
- Supervise at lunch, activity periods, and on playground
- Run copies, laminate, and assemble items for teachers
- Discuss assigned duties with classroom teachers
- Prepare lesson materials, bulletin board displays, exhibits, equipment, and demonstrations
- Present subject matter to students under the direction and guidance of teachers
- Tutor and assist children individually or in small groups
- Supervise students in classrooms, halls, cafeterias, school yards, and gymnasiums
- Conduct demonstrations to teach such skills as sports, dancing, and handicrafts
- Distribute teaching materials such as textbooks, workbooks, papers, and pencils
- Distribute tests and homework assignments, and collect them when completed
- Enforce administration policies and rules governing students
- Grade homework and tests, and compute and record results

Schedule
Employment with the School District is not for a set period of time (follows teacher annual contract dates), and either party may terminate this agreement, with or without cause, and with or without two weeks' notice.
