Prefabrication Project Manager

Responsibilities

• Evaluate design proposals, engineering plans, equipment and specifications for prefabrication opportunities
• Develop estimates as a mechanical contractor for prefabrication scopes of work
• Provide engineering design assistance on job proposals
• Develop detailed estimates from conceptual designs and narratives
• Assist the VDC team in creating model content for proof of concept exercises
• Interface and work directly with all team members involved in skid/module development
• Verify pipe, valve, and fittings required for each project and standardize materials for use by VDC Project Managers
• Ensure compliance of all VDC drawings produced for spooling before sending them to spooling
• Work with the Prefabrication VDC Manager and fabrication facility Superintendent to reduce waste and improve efficiency
• Collaborate with the project management and procurement team to procure and store material related to prefabrication projects
• Assist with project research and preliminary design calculations
• Track pipe fabrication efficiency for the production facility
• Be creative and provide solutions to complex problems

Requirements

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent degree/experience required
• Background in pipe fabrication
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Team player with responsiveness, reliability, and collaboration skills

Nice to have

• Experience with Autobid software and Revit
• Advanced skills in Excel
• Leverage Lean Manufacturing principles
• Manufacturing experience
