About the role
Control Air Enterprises is a complete mechanical & plumbing contracting firm specializing in commercial and industrial air conditioning and plumbing. Since incorporation in 1978, the company has built a diverse team capable of handling all phases of commercial air conditioning. This role is based in the Anaheim headquarters within the PreConstruction division.
Responsibilities
- Provide engineering depth and added value to the Business Development, Preconstruction, and Estimating Divisions.
- Design and layout HVAC systems with minimal initial information.
- Plan, design, and construct HVAC systems for commercial facilities, including hydronic and air distribution systems.
- Review engineering drawings, specifications, and front-end documents with acute attention to detail.
- Work within Commercial, Institutional, Educational, and Healthcare market segments.
- Apply strong understanding of California Building Codes, ASHRAE standards, and OSHPD requirements.
- Coordinate activities to ensure client satisfaction and project success.
Requirements
- 4-year Engineering Degree: B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management.
- EIT/PE Licensure (preferred, not required).
- OSHPD experience is crucial.
- LEED AP Accreditation (preferred, not required).
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of commercial construction industry experience at a consulting engineering, engineering/architectural, or design-build company.
- Strong understanding of California Building Codes, ASHRAE Standards, and OSHPD Requirements.
- Mandatory ground-up/new construction commercial experience (High-Rise, Mixed Use, Hotel, Hospital, etc.).
- Competent system design experience (DX, VRF, AHUs, Chillers, Boilers, VAV, FBs, Radiant, Chilled Beams, Smoke Control, Methane).
- Supervisory experience with entry-level and experienced engineering staff.
- Strong social, verbal, and written communication skills; ability to professionally articulate and express company goals.
