General Responsibilities
- Manage multiple estimates depending on size, complexity, and type.
- Mentor less senior staff.
- Evaluate Assistant Preconstruction Estimators' performance and identify training needs.
- Conduct training of others.
- Perform all duties of the Assistant Preconstruction Estimator should project size, budget, or staffing limitations exist.
- Represent Blum with Owner(s), Architects, Consultants, Vendors, and Subcontractors in a courteous and professional way.
- Build effective working relationships with clients and the Blum project team members.
- Work Deliverables: The results that are expected from a top performing Preconstruction Manager.
Work Deliverables
- Setting the Project Goals: Develops comprehensive understanding of project strategy and deploys this throughout the Estimating process.
- Evaluating Information: Ensures that the information required to begin the Estimating process is accurate and available; Follow-up to fill in the blanks where needed – i.e. client information, square footage, etc.
- Ensuring Profitability: Sets up estimates to insure profitability, client satisfaction and the best subs for the job.
- Scheduling and Planning: Works with Construction Operations in schedule development, constructability review, safety review, site logistics planning and goal setting.
- Managing Self and Others: Develops and manages self and others to milestones to ensure that your knowledge of the project and its requirements is always one step ahead of the Subcontractors.
- Client Service: Uses knowledge to deliver outstanding client service and deliver the best service to the client.
- Financial Management: Ensure that jobs are set up properly to meet established profit goals by analyzing and integrating all business and contractual terms.
