Preconstruction Manager
About the Role
AECOM Hunt has an exciting opportunity for a Preconstruction Manager to join our team of professionals in the Phoenix, AZ office. As a key member of our Preconstruction team, you will manage day-to-day pre-construction operations, including preparing preliminary budget estimates, design cost estimates, design-development cost estimates, and guaranteed maximum price (GMP) proposals with value engineering.

Responsibilities
- Manage pre-construction operations, including budget estimates, design cost estimates, and GMP proposals with value engineering.
- Analyze project information such as preliminary schedules, procurement schedules, cost analysis, GMP, construction documents, blueprints, and bid packages from subcontractors.
- Gather data to demonstrate best practices and value engineering for cost savings, presenting opportunities to senior leaders and clients to meet budget constraints.
- Oversee the preconstruction, estimating, scheduling, and procurement team to compile budget estimates from pre-concept design to construction document stage.
- Supervise team reviews of drawings, BIM, and specifications to estimate costs, propose construction methods, and recommend cost-saving measures or potential project issues.
- Prepare pre-construction budgets and present viability to clients, architects, and project management executives.
- Develop and present competitive and accurate pricing strategies for construction cost components.
- Manage team workload, distribute project documents, and organize estimating schedules.
- Review subcontractor bids, scopes of work, and analyze costs as bids are received.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- BA/BS in Construction Management, Engineering, or relevant curriculum.
- 8+ years of experience in commercial preconstruction or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in CMAR (Construction Manager at Risk).
- Preconstruction experience in aviation/airport, convention center/hospitality, or sports/stadium construction.
- Leadership experience on multimillion-dollar construction projects.
- Expertise in scheduling, budgeting, and full-cycle estimating for construction projects.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
- Proficiency in computer scheduling projects and Microsoft Office.

Pay
Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, and experience. The range for this position is $113,304.48 to $209,613.29 annually.
Schedule
This position is on-site and does not include hybrid or remote work options.
Qualified applicants must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test and attend an in-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office location as a condition of employment.
