Preclinical Neuroscientist (Level I-II)

Neurona Therapeutics is a clinical stage biotechnology company based in South San Francisco developing cell-based therapies for neurological disease. We have an opening for a Preclinical Neuroscientist who will contribute to ongoing programs and build new models to study modulation of neural circuits and support translational development of cellular therapeutics. Responsibilities Include Planning, designing, executing and analyzing preclinical studies in neurological models that integrate anatomical, behavioral and physiological endpoints to understand the safety and efficacy of cellular therapeuticsEstablishing new preclinical models and performing in vivo and histological activities required to support translational developmentClose collaboration with cross-disciplinary teams and external groups to coordinate and drive complex studiesTraining and supervising research associatesClearly communicating results in written and oral formatsCritical interpretation of multidisciplinary data setsMaintaining notebooks and electronic files associated with each experimentPreparing scientific presentations and manuscripts for publicationDeveloping and authoring protocols, reports and other scientific and quality documentsUpholding the highest standards of scientific excellence and dataintegrity, , and respect for colleagues. Required Qualifications PhD in neuroscience (or equivalent) with demonstrated productivity in the neuroscience field as evidenced by a strong publication record and professional referencesWell-versed in developing preclinical in vivo modelsExpertise in rodent neuroanatomy, stereotaxic surgery, animal behavior and histologyExcellent analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills with attention to detailProven ability to work as a member of an interdisciplinary team and contribute to a highly collaborative environmentExcellent communication skills with the abilities to thoroughly document and effectively present scientific dataHigh energy and passion for drug discovery and development Interested in learning more about our science and our team?
