About the role
As a Precision Tooling Machinist at Rocknel Fastener Inc., you will be responsible for operating precision machinery to manufacture and repair metal parts. You will work closely with engineers and other machinists to ensure that all tools and equipment are maintained and up-to-date.Responsibilities
- Operate CNC and manual machining equipment to produce precise metal parts.
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to understand manufacturing specifications.
- Perform quality control checks on manufactured parts to ensure they meet industry standards.
- Assist in the setup and adjustment of machining tools and machines.
- Maintain and operate various types of machine tools including lathes, mills, and grinders.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and efficiency.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 2 years of experience in a similar role.
- Proficiency in using CNC and manual machining equipment.
- Strong understanding of metalworking processes and materials.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Good mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Physical ability to perform tasks involving standing, bending, and lifting.
Qualifications
- Experience with CNC programming and operation.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 quality management systems.
- Basic knowledge of computer-aided design (CAD).
- Experience with lean manufacturing principles.
