Responsibilities
- Working both independently and in coordination with engineering support to characterize, assemble, and test precision targets and target components.
- Performing intricate assemblies and precise positioning of valuable, fragile parts under a microscope (from centimeter down to micrometer scales with sub-micrometer tolerances), both by-hand and with computerized control.
- Operating computer-controlled LabVIEW instrumentation systems under multiple extreme conditions, such as high pressure, high voltage, cryogens, and radioactive materials.
- Interpreting engineering drawings, schematics, and informal sketches to perform precision assemblies, component inspections, and quality assurance workflows.
- Operating in an ISO 5 / Class 100 cleanroom environment while strictly adhering to safety mandates, established operating procedures, and protective garment requirements.
- Recognizing, reporting, and assisting with diagnosing assembly and operational problems or anomalies in equipment and testing environments.
- Creating, maintaining, and communicating thorough and accurate data recordings while training others on complex process flows.
Requirements
- Associate degree, vocational school degree, or Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline (6 additional years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a Bachelor's degree).
- 2 + years of related information systems, technical laboratory, or advanced manufacturing experience.
- Demonstrated strong grasp of geometrical concepts with a proven capability to interpret complex engineering drawings and procedural guidelines.
- Strong ability to learn, navigate, and operate specialized computer instrumentation software and technical systems.
- Proven experience working across a large team to meet production deadlines, coordinate resources, and drive a standardized operational agenda.
- Experience creating, maintaining, and communicating complex technical documentation, particularly regarding quality assurance data, system baselines, and configuration items.
Qualifications
- Direct experience utilizing instrumentation, microscopes, and advanced metrology equipment (e.g., interferometry, optical coordinate metrology).
- Hands-on experience working within automated fabrication systems or utilizing the Sponsor's primary operational compliance tools.
- Self-starter with excellent interpersonal and training skills, capable of organizing workflows and driving process improvements across teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Direct experience utilizing instrumentation, microscopes, and advanced metrology equipment (e.g., interferometry, optical coordinate metrology).
- Hands-on experience working within automated fabrication systems or utilizing the Sponsor's primary operational compliance tools.
- Self-starter with excellent interpersonal and training skills, capable of organizing workflows and driving process improvements across teams.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
- Needs to occasionally move about inside the office or laboratory to access machinery, tools, and equipment.
- Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and engineering teams, which may involve delivering technical status updates.
- Willingness and physical capability to perform full-day assignments in complete ISO 5 / Class 100 cleanroom garments.
