Precertification Specialist

General Summary of Duties

• Obtain appropriate insurance verification, prior approval and all authorization requirements prior to a patient's arrival for a procedure or surgery.
• Perform authorization activities for inpatient and outpatient surgeries, as well as in-office procedures.
• Aid in denial management.
• Demonstrate ability to multi-task and work under pressure.
• Show working knowledge in authorization-related activities, including pre-authorizations, notifications, medical policy guidelines, and denials.
