Precast Designer
What's the Job?
Perform structural design and analysis of prestressed and precast concrete elements, including beams, columns, wall panels, piles, and related systems.
Develop detailed 3D models and shop drawings for precast concrete systems, cast-in-place foundations, and miscellaneous structural components using industry-standard CAD software.
Read and interpret structural, architectural, and MEP drawings to develop accurate precast solutions.
Collaborate with engineers, detailers, production teams, and field personnel to ensure design intent aligns with fabrication and erection requirements.
Support project lifecycle activities by responding to RFIs, submittals, and design revisions, ensuring compliance with applicable codes and standards.
What's Needed?
- Minimum 5–8 years of experience in precast/prestressed concrete design and/or detailing.
- Proficiency in 3D modeling and detailing software such as Tekla Structures, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Revit, or similar platforms.
- Strong knowledge of precast/prestressed concrete design, including PCI standards, load paths, and connection design.
- Understanding of precast production processes, erection methods, and constructability considerations.
- Ability to interpret construction drawings and translate them into accurate models and designs.
