About the role
The PREA Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the implementation and compliance with the Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) standards within the facility.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the development and maintenance of policies and procedures related to PREA compliance.
- Conduct regular training sessions for staff on PREA standards and best practices.
- Monitor and evaluate PREA compliance through audits and inspections.
- Respond to complaints and incidents involving sexual abuse in a timely and sensitive manner.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure a comprehensive approach to PREA compliance.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, social work, public health, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in a similar role or in a field related to sexual assault prevention and response.
- Experience working with correctional facilities and understanding of prison environments.
- Knowledge of federal and state laws related to sexual abuse in correctional settings.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with inmates, staff, and external partners.

- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Pay
$50,000 - $60,000 annually based on experience.
