Pre - TDP Trainee

About the Role

This program offers a valuable opportunity for hands-on experience in the automotive industry, working alongside an experienced technician and gaining insight into various aspects of auto body repair. This will be a 30 day trial to qualify for the 18-month Technician Development Program.

Key Job Responsibilities

• Assist in performing basic auto body repairs, including dent removal, sanding, and painting under the supervision of experienced technicians
• Learn to use and maintain tools and equipment properly to ensure safety and efficiency in the workplace
• Participate in vehicle inspections to identify damages and develop repair plans
• Collaborate with team members to complete repair projects within specified timelines and quality standards
• Follow all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a clean and organized work environment

Education and/or Experience Required

• High School Diploma/GED preferred
• Trade/Vocational school graduates preferred
• Some on-the-job experience is preferred
• I-CAR Gold Class preferred

Required Skills and Abilities

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time in the repair of a vehicle
• Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
• Must be able to visually inspect vehicle damage in a variety of weather conditions
• Must be able to use hands efficiently in handling vehicle parts
• Strong interest in the automotive industry and a desire to learn and develop technical skills
• Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team environment
• Basic knowledge of auto body repair techniques and tools is preferred but not required
• Good communication skills and a positive attitude toward learning and problem-solving
• Reliable transportation to commute to the workplace

Requirements to Qualify for Entry into TDP

• Mentor agrees to accept trainee
• Zero unplanned absences
• Zero Tardiness violations
• Has worked with selected mentor for 90% or more of the 30-day time frame
• Trainee passes final Pre-TDP assessment
• Mentor signs training agreement

Pay

$15.00–$18.00 per hour. This position may also be eligible for Bonus opportunities tied to individual or business initiatives.
