About the role

This 30-day trial offers hands-on experience in the automotive industry, working alongside an experienced technician to gain insight into auto body repair. Successful completion qualifies you for the 18-month Technician Development Program.

Responsibilities

• Assist in performing basic auto body repairs, including dent removal, sanding, and painting under supervision.
• Learn to use and maintain tools and equipment properly to ensure safety and efficiency.
• Participate in vehicle inspections to identify damages and develop repair plans.
• Collaborate with team members to complete repair projects within specified timelines and quality standards.
• Follow all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Maintain good rapport with supervisors and co-workers.
• Comply with all company policies and procedures as outlined in the employee handbook.
• Present a friendly, positive, and professional demeanor toward fellow employees.
• Promote teamwork and maintain a well-groomed appearance.
• Keep a clean, organized work area and perform tasks according to company Standardized Operating Procedures.
• Continuously improve efficiency and participate in company meetings and training programs.
• Extend working hours as needed to accommodate workload and customer requirements.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Trade or vocational school graduates preferred.
• Some on-the-job experience is preferred.
• I-CAR Gold Class preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to stand for long periods, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Must be able to visually inspect vehicle damage in various weather conditions.
• Must be able to use hands efficiently in handling vehicle parts.
• Strong interest in the automotive industry and a desire to learn technical skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team environment.
• Basic knowledge of auto body repair techniques and tools is preferred but not required.
• Good communication skills and a positive attitude toward learning and problem-solving.
• Reliable transportation to commute to the workplace.

To Qualify for Entry Into the Technician Development Program

• Mentor agrees to accept trainee.
• Zero unplanned absences.
• Zero tardiness violations.
• Has worked with selected mentor for 90% or more of the 30-day time frame.
• Trainee passes final Pre-TDP assessment.
• Mentor signs training agreement.

Pay

$15.00–$18.00 per hour. This position may also be eligible for bonus opportunities tied to individual or business initiatives.
