BWX Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: BWXT) is a U.S.-based company that provides nuclear solutions for global security, clean energy, environmental restoration, nuclear medicine, and space exploration. The Pre Production Machinist position is available at BWXT's On-site location in Euclid, Ohio.
Responsibilities
- Follow engineering prints, specifications, and routing sheets to perform a variety of manufacturing, machining, fitting, assembly, set-up operations.
- Plan and develop tools, fixtures, and inspection equipment used in manufacturing and repairing components or equipment.
- Set up and operate machining and grinding equipment, perform layout, fitting, assembly, and manufacturing operations of production and repair parts.
- Develop, set-up, and operate prototype, sample, or experimental procedures or production lots to test newly developed production methods or tooling.
- Use existing, or develop new methods, processes, and equipment to plan and execute manufacturing and/or repair operations on equipment and components.
- Recommend modifications and revisions of procedures.
- Inspect all work using appropriate measurement instruments.
- Assist other operators with proper operational procedures.
- Perform housekeeping and other job-related duties as assigned by foreman.
Requirements
- Five (5) years of experience in set-up and operation of the following types of machines: CNC lathe, CNC Mill, Manual Lathe, Bridgeport, Jig Bore, EDM, Surface Grinder, ID/OD Grinder, completion of an accredited training program will be considered.
- A High School Diploma or GED equivalency is required.
- Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, procedures, and work instructions.
- Knowledge of Fanuc and conversational programming.
- Experience in manufacturing and repairing deviated parts, tools, and fixtures.
- Ability to use various measuring instruments including; dial bore gages, indicator snap gages, Verniers, .0001 micrometers, Cadillac gages, sine bars.
- Possess skills necessary to maintain accurate documentation.
- Possess related personal tools.
- Must have the ability to work an off shift of 3:00pm-11:00pm or 11:00pm- 7:00am.
- Ability to work in a diverse team environment with both hourly and salary employees and communicate effectively.
Qualifications

Pay
The starting rate for this position in Ohio (US-OH) is $42.70 per hour.
