Pre Op PACU RN

About the role

The PreOp/PACU Registered Nurse at Lawrenceville Surgery Center provides continuous and quality nursing care for all patients, evaluating their condition, ensuring patient safety, comfort, and privacy.

Responsibilities

• Provides nursing care for patients before surgery and in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU).
• Aids physicians in procedure rooms with tasks such as conscious sedation and sterile techniques.
• Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care for patients emerging from general anesthesia or sedation.
• Ensures patient comfort and privacy during all stages of care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN school.
• Active RN license in the state.
• BLS and ACLS certifications, with PALS certification if required by the center.
• Two years of experience in PACU or Critical Care preferred.
• Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
