Pre-Litigation Paralegal

We are looking for a Pre-Litigation Paralegal to support a busy personal injury practice in West Hartford, Connecticut. This role is ideal for a legal team member with strong organizational skills who can manage a large caseload, maintain strong client communication, and keep matters moving efficiently toward resolution.

Responsibilities

• Manage a substantial pre-litigation caseload, overseeing each matter from client intake through settlement completion.
• Obtain, review, and organize records such as medical documentation, accident reports, and other case-related materials needed to evaluate claims.
• Prepare persuasive demand submissions and draft settlement-related paperwork with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Communicate with clients and treatment providers to help coordinate medical care and monitor the status of recovery.
• Partner with attorneys to develop case strategy, assess documentation, and support file preparation for negotiation.
• Maintain complete and current case files within the firm's case management platform, ensuring deadlines, updates, and correspondence are properly recorded.
• Provide regular case status updates and respond promptly to client questions in a thoughtful and empathetic manner.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience working in a Connecticut personal injury law firm.
• Working knowledge of legal terminology and pre-litigation processes related to personal injury matters.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, attorneys, and external contacts.
• Proficiency with legal technology and Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to work independently while contributing effectively in a collaborative team environment.
• Excellent organizational skills, with the capacity to prioritize multiple deadlines and manage a high-volume workload.
• Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish.
• Experience with case management systems such as FileVine, Clio, or Needles.
