About the Role
A Paralegal is responsible for investigating and researching facts and preparing documents to assist and support their assigned attorney. This role involves accurate case management and timely communication with clients and attorneys.
Responsibilities
- Obtain, review, and organize medical records
- Conduct insurance coverage investigations
- Prepare, calculate, and maintain damage summaries including medical expenses, lost wages, and property damage
- Log daily mail
- Prepare and forward medical records to insurance carriers
- Draft correspondence necessary for case management
- Handle balance verifications and assist with subrogation lien resolution
- Prepare check requests, maintain check records, and mail checks
- Assist attorney with settlement documentation and disbursements
- Prepare disbursement summaries
- Prepare files for litigation transfer when necessary
- Maintain consistent and regular communication with clients regarding case status
- Provide weekly reports
- Participate in monthly team meetings
- Provide support for other team members in their absence
- Meet or exceed established goals
- Ensure regular, consistent, and punctual attendance
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Three to five years’ relevant work experience required
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Paralegal certificate preferred
