About the Role

The Pre-Litigation Medical Assistant serves as a key medical resource within the Pre-Litigation Department, providing medical insight, supporting case reviews, and assisting with training initiatives. This role helps interpret medical records, clarify treatment and injury-related issues, and support informed case evaluations.

Responsibilities

  • Complete case medical assessments
  • Update client medical appointments
  • Assist with coordinating medical treatment and transportation
  • Monitor client medical conditions and report changes to legal team and attorneys
  • Provide medical education to team members and clients, ensuring clarity on injuries and treatment plans
  • Assist clients and teams in understanding case-related injuries, probable treatment, and medical terminology
  • Review and/or summarize medical and billing records throughout the treatment phase
  • Conduct literature reviews using multiple databases for case-related research
  • Assist with medical writing for internal and external publications and training materials
  • Design and deliver training, both one-on-one and group sessions, virtual and in-person
  • Educate employees during orientation and onboarding on essential medical knowledge
  • Communicate with clients to clarify treatment procedures and emphasize their importance
  • Deliver compassionate support and assistance to clients when needed, ensuring a positive experience
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical and organization processes to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Demonstrate strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in multiple software applications
  • Perform other duties as required to support departmental and organizational success

Requirements

  • State-approved Medical Assistant or Certified Nurse Assistant training program preferred
  • High-school diploma/GED; Associate degree preferred
  • Medical Records review experience desired
  • 2 or more years of medical experience preferred in one or more of the following: Primary Care, Emergency Room/Urgent Care, Orthopedic or Neurology
  • Teaching ability: desire to share information directly contributes to the success of others
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills on the phone, in person and email
  • Advanced Research skills
  • Proven success in meeting expectations as part of a team
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of discretion dealing with confidential information
  • Superb organizational and time management skills; meticulous attention to detail
  • Able to work under pressure and adhere to deadlines
  • Law firm experience a plus

Physical Requirements

  • Office environment with normal business hours necessary to satisfactorily perform job functions
  • Stationary Position – Must be able to remain in a stationary position up to 50% of the time
  • Move or Traverse – Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, meeting rooms, office machinery, etc.
  • May occasionally ascend/descend stairs to get to other floors, cafeteria, and parking area
  • Dexterity – Constantly operates a computer and other office machinery such as a copy machine/printer
  • Occasionally moves supplies weighing up to 10 pounds for various presentation and event needs
  • Communicate, Detect, Converse with, Discern, Convey, Express oneself, Exchange information – The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand
  • Detect, Determine, Perceive, Identify, Recognize, Judge, Observe, Inspect, Estimate, Assess – The ability to observe details at close range (within a few feet of the observer)
