8.0 hours per day / 183 days per year / Salary Grade 7: $20.98 per hour (2026-2027 Support Salary Table). Promotions result in a 5% minimum increase.
About the role
Under the direction of the Head Start Coordinator, the Head Start Instructor assesses each child's needs and skills, works with parents to set goals for each child, and prepares and presents learning activities that address those goals, encourage creativity, and teach basic skills. Positions available include varied duties such as teaching Pre-School, Head Start, Early Head Start, EHS Home Visitor, Home Visitor, and PATT. Some programs run in the evenings.
Requirements
- Associate’s Degree in a related field, or current Child Development Associates (CDA)
- Driver’s license and own transportation
- One year of experience
