Pre-K Teacher

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Pre-K School Teacher to join our team and contribute to the academic and personal development of young learners. The ideal candidate will have a passion for education, a deep understanding of elementary curriculum, and the ability to create a positive and engaging learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Curriculum/Instructional Planning and Implementation:
  • Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans in accordance with the district's curriculum and educational standards.
  • Utilize a variety of teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles and engage students in the learning process, modifying instructional methods to fit individual student's needs.
  • Promote a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small group instruction, and student learning.
  • Coordinate with other elementary professional staff members, especially within grade level, to evaluate and assess curriculum, and participate in faculty meetings and committees.
• Classroom Management:
  • Establish and maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes respect and cooperation among students.
  • Implement effective behavior management strategies to create a conducive learning atmosphere.
  • Ensure that student conduct conforms with the school's standards and school district policies and establish and maintain standards of pupil behavior needed to achieve a positive learning atmosphere in the classroom.
• Assessment and Feedback:
  • Regularly assess student progress using a variety of assessment tools and provide constructive feedback to both students and parents.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to analyze student performance data and tailor instructional approaches accordingly.
  • Organize and maintain a system for accurate and complete record-keeping, grading, and reporting for all student activities, achievement, and attendance as required by district procedures and applicable laws.
• Parent Communication:
  • Foster open and effective communication with parents through regular updates, parent-teacher conferences, and other communication channels.
  • Work collaboratively with parents to support students' academic and social development.
• Professional Development:
  • Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to stay current with educational trends, teaching methodologies, and curriculum advancements, including attending workshops, seminars, and professional meetings such as faculty and department/grade level meetings.
  • Collaborate with fellow teachers and staff to share best practices and enhance the overall learning experience for students.
• Other:
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned by the Principal, Assistant Principal, and other central office administrators as designated by the Superintendent.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and NYS Certification in Early Childhood Education Birth – Grade 2.
• Strong knowledge of elementary curriculum, instructional strategies, and educational trends.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, flexibility, and a genuine passion for working with children.
• Ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
