Job Summary
The Archdiocese of St. Louis strives to teach and share our faith, serve others, and foster unity throughout the St. Louis area. Once a part of Kenrick-Glennon Seminary's campus, the Cardinal Rigali Center in Shrewsbury, MO is today the headquarters and curia (governing body) for the Archdiocese of St. Louis.Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Support the Pre-K teacher with daily classroom instruction, activities, and routines.
- Aid in supervising students during classroom activities, transitions, outdoor play, lunch, and dismissal to ensure safety and positive behavior.
- Help prepare instructional materials, learning centers, and classroom resources.
- Support students' social, emotional, physical, and academic development through positive guidance and encouragement.
- Affirm classroom rules, routines, and behavior expectations consistently and respectfully.
- Aid in maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom environment.
- Provide individual or small-group support to students as directed by the teacher.
- Communicate professionally with teachers, staff, and administration regarding student needs or classroom activities.
- Uphold confidentiality, school policies, and diocesan guidelines.
- Model appropriate behavior aligned with Catholic values and the mission of the school.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent (required).
- Experience working with young children in an educational or childcare setting (preferred).
- A commitment to Catholic education and willingness to support the mission of St. Clement of Rome Catholic School.
- The ability to work collaboratively with teachers and staff.
- Strong communication, patience, and organizational skills.
- Dependability and a positive, nurturing demeanor.
