About the role
Healthy Kids Programs is looking for someone energetic and passionate about working with kids to join the team as a Lead Teacher for our Before and After School Pre-k Program for the 2026-2027 school year.
JOB STATUS: Part time, non-exempt, located at Uriah Hill Elementary School in Peekskill, NY, with a pay rate of $17.00 per hour, and hours of 7:00 - 8:30 am and 2:15 - 6:00 pm.
Responsibilities
- Ensure staff and program operations consistently meet state regulations, Healthy Kids policies, and host school requirements through program compliance.
- Plan and lead engaging, hands-on activities aligned with the Healthy Kids Curriculum, including fitness, STEAM, academics, arts, and homework support through program leadership.
- Oversee daily operational tasks such as accurate attendance and registration tracking, scheduling, and maintaining appropriate staffing levels through program management.
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with parents and caregivers using the Playground App through family communication.
- Communicate regularly with your direct report to share updates, address concerns, and support a positive team environment through team collaboration.
Requirements
- Candidates must meet one of the following:
- Associate's degree in Early Childhood, Child Development or a related field.
- Child Development Associate Credential or another Office-recognized credential specific to the preschool developmental period (with 1 year of experience).
- 9 Credits in Early Childhood, Child Development or a related field with a plan of study leading to Associates or other Office recognized credential (with 2 years of experience).
Qualifications
- Must be medically cleared to perform all job duties and free of communicable diseases, including tuberculosis (TB).
- Demonstrates a positive, friendly demeanor with strong interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with children, parents, and team members.
- Dependable, punctual, and professional in conduct and appearance.
- Able to bend, stretch, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds, and meet the physical demands of working with children.
