Pre Glue Makeup Infeed

About the Role

Pre-Glue employees will work on a manufacturing-style line completing a variety of tasks at different points in the process. Many of these tasks involve understanding paperwork associated with daily production schedules. This is a fast-paced, team-oriented environment where we strive to meet production demands while supporting each other. A clean work area must be maintained throughout each shift, and company rules and safety regulations must be followed at all times.

Responsibilities

• Grade each piece of lumber coming down the chain by visually inspecting all four sides to ensure it is the proper grade for lay-up.
• Hand-apply glue on Finger Joints using a handheld Finger Joint applicator.
• Operate a small panel box for outfeed finger joints, rolls, chain, in rolls to make up, and the make-up section.
• Remain alert at all times.
• Know and utilize all Lock-out/Tag-out procedures associated with your duties.
• Report any potential machinery defects immediately.
• Report any potential safety risks immediately.
• Keep the work area clean and orderly.
• Use downtime for clean-up and minor maintenance.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Familiarity with wood products manufacturing equipment and environments
• Strong work ethic; ability to work evenings and weekends as needed
• Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and supervisors
• Excellent teamwork, cooperation, and problem-solving skills
• Dedicated, self-motivated team member willing and able to work independently or as part of a team
• Ability to stand, kneel, and bend for prolonged periods
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds
