Responsibilities
- Perform bench work, animal surgeries, and animal care
- Collect and analyze data, generate figures, and prepare manuscripts
- Support the principal investigator and research team in collaborating on projects
- Aid in laboratory management and daily operations, including maintaining laboratory organization, monitoring inventory, ordering supplies, and ensuring compliance with laboratory safety regulations
Requirements
- Must be enrolled in a PhD program or have equivalent training in a field related to the research project
- Prior experience in wet-lab research preferred
- Experience working with animal models (e.g., mice) or willingness to learn animal handling and surgical techniques preferred
Qualifications
- Experience with molecular biology, biochemistry, or physiology techniques (such as PCR, Western blot, histology, cell culture, or microscopy) is a plus
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
- Excellent English communication skills (oral and written)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); experience with data analysis or statistical software is a plus
- Ability to work independently and as part of a research team
- Ability to follow laboratory safety procedures and institutional animal care regulations
- Ability to maintain accurate and confidential research records

About the Department
The Department of Medicine, Section of Nephrology is a basic research group focused on the role of the juxtaglomerular apparatus in regulating renal hemodynamics and systemic blood pressure. We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Research Fellow to join our research team.
Benefits
Compensation range: $54,000 - $58,500
