Pre-Construction Assistant Manager I

Overview

The Assistant Pre-Construction Manager is responsible for working closely with other team members to identify opportunities, document scope, and assist during project pursuit. The tasks and duties expose the individual to basic system concepts, sizing methodologies, estimating fundamentals, and start building construction application skills.

Responsibilities

• Project Pursuit:

  • Assists engineering and estimating in preparing pricing, VE information, and support documents.
  • Clearly defines project scope and verify assumptions, clarifications, and exclusions are communicated to GC/Owner team.
  • Aids in prequalification effort, RFP response, and project presentations on qualified projects.

• Managing of Preconstruction activities:

  • Thoroughly reviews design drawings, specifications, estimates, sub/vendor quotes and proposals to understand risk and influence project profitability.
  • Verifies scope is documented properly to minimize project team confusion and help ensure construction decisions are made in a timely manner.

• Supporting:

  • Periodically assists other Operational Services Departments.

Qualifications

• Required:

  • 30 hours of continued education.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Versed in the industry and the Company's competitors.
  • Ability to multitask and perform duties outside of the scope of work when necessary.

• PREFERRED:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management.

Travel Requirements

0-5% of the time will be spent traveling to the job site(s)/office locations.

Physical Activities

• Climbing stairs.
• Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
• Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.

Environmental Conditions

• Quiet environment.

Physical Demands

• Light work that includes adjusting and/or moving objects up to 20 pounds.

Pay Range

USD $58,080.00 - USD $77,570.00 /Yr.
