Overview
The Pre-Commissioning Technician I supports the pre-commissioning department and assists more senior technicians in the startup and repair of systems. Tasks range from basic system concepts to troubleshooting and repair, and support for operations.
Responsibilities
- Startup: Starting up less complex equipment; assisting with complex equipment and systems, gathering product info (Model #'s, Serial #'s, Belt, filter sizes).
- Diagnose and Repair: Assisting more senior technicians with troubleshooting problems and repairs.
- Support for Operations: Assisting with system flushing, TAB, setting PRV's, maintaining belts, greasing bearings and motors before turnover.
- Review of Submittal Documents: Verifying equipment on job and submittal match voltage/amps/HP/etc.
- Mentoring of Other Employees: Not expected to provide direct mentoring to other employees, either within or outside the department.
- After Hours Work: Works overtime on occasion.
Qualifications
- Education, Experience, and Qualifications:
- 20 hours of continued education.
- 0-2 years' experience.
- EPA 608 Certification.
- OSHA 30 certification.
- NFPA 70 certification.
- Ability to develop the following skills through mentorship, continuing education and hands-on activity:

- Copper Tube Brazing.
- Soft Skills.
- Time Management.
- Troubleshooting System Knowledge.
- Hydronic Systems.
- VRF Systems.
- Chiller Operation.
- Learning and Development: Central to being a Pre-Commissioning Technician.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Versed in the industry and the Company's competitors.
- Ability to multitask and perform duties outside of the scope of work when necessary.

Physical/Work Environment Requirements
- NFPA 70 compliant uniform (1 sets will be provided by the company, and replaced annually).
- Ascending and descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, and/or poles.
- Climbing stairs.
- Moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces.
- Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
- Operating machinery and/or power tools.
- Outdoor elements such as precipitation, heat, cold, and/or wind.
- Noisy environment.
- Light to heavy work that includes adjusting and/or moving objects from 20-100 pounds.
Pay Range
USD $17.43 - USD $23.28 /Hr.
