Pre-Commission Tech I

Overview

The Pre-Commissioning Technician I supports the pre-commissioning department and assists more senior technicians in the startup and repair of systems. Tasks range from basic system concepts to troubleshooting and repair, and support for operations.

Responsibilities

• Startup: Starting up less complex equipment; assisting with complex equipment and systems, gathering product info (Model #'s, Serial #'s, Belt, filter sizes).
• Diagnose and Repair: Assisting more senior technicians with troubleshooting problems and repairs.
• Support for Operations: Assisting with system flushing, TAB, setting PRV's, maintaining belts, greasing bearings and motors before turnover.
• Review of Submittal Documents: Verifying equipment on job and submittal match voltage/amps/HP/etc.
• Mentoring of Other Employees: Not expected to provide direct mentoring to other employees, either within or outside the department.
• After Hours Work: Works overtime on occasion.

Qualifications

• Education, Experience, and Qualifications:
  • 20 hours of continued education.
  • 0-2 years' experience.
  • EPA 608 Certification.
  • OSHA 30 certification.
  • NFPA 70 certification.
• Ability to develop the following skills through mentorship, continuing education and hands-on activity:

  • Copper Tube Brazing.
  • Soft Skills.
  • Time Management.
  • Troubleshooting System Knowledge.
  • Hydronic Systems.
  • VRF Systems.
  • Chiller Operation.
• Learning and Development: Central to being a Pre-Commissioning Technician.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Versed in the industry and the Company's competitors.
• Ability to multitask and perform duties outside of the scope of work when necessary.

Physical/Work Environment Requirements

• NFPA 70 compliant uniform (1 sets will be provided by the company, and replaced annually).
• Ascending and descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, and/or poles.
• Climbing stairs.
• Moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces.
• Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
• Operating machinery and/or power tools.
• Outdoor elements such as precipitation, heat, cold, and/or wind.
• Noisy environment.
• Light to heavy work that includes adjusting and/or moving objects from 20-100 pounds.

Pay Range

USD $17.43 - USD $23.28 /Hr.
