PRE AUDIT CLERK II - OAHU
About the role
Pre-Audit Clerks are concerned with the functions of examination and verification of payrolls and summary warrant vouchers for accuracy and compliance with legal and procedural requirements; verification of prices of contractual items; verification of receipts of goods or services; and the receipt and deposit of monies received by the department.
Responsibilities
- Examine, prior to payment, all vouchered claims against the State for propriety of the charge against the appropriation indicated and for compliance with statutes, policies, rules and regulations;
- Examine, prior to payment, all payroll claims against the State for compliance with laws, rules and regulations, and policies as established for employees under the merit system and employees exempted from the merit system;
- Supervise and participate in performing the full range of clerical pre-auditing work in a large department involving vouchered claims and/or payroll claims for compliance with Federal, State and/or departmental laws, regulations, rules, policies and procedures;
- Supervise the full range of clerical pre-auditing work in a large department involving vouchered claims and/or payroll claims for compliance with Federal, State and/or departmental laws, regulations, rules, policies and procedures;
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Two (2) years of responsible clerical work experience in the preparation and processing of payroll documents/forms and/or in the preparation and processing of vouchers, invoices and statements;
- One (1) year of progressively responsible work experience which involved the examination and verification of payroll documents/forms, invoices, vouchers, statements and other request for payment for completeness, accuracy, legality, and propriety.
Qualifications
To qualify, you must meet all of the following requirements:
- Legal Authorization To Work Requirement: Must be a citizen, national, or permanent resident alien of the United States, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment in the United States.
- Specialized Experience: Two (2) years of responsible clerical work experience in the preparation and processing of payroll documents/forms and/or in the preparation and processing of vouchers, invoices and statements.
- Pre Audit Experience: One (1) year of progressively responsible work experience which involved the examination and verification of payroll documents/forms, invoices, vouchers, statements and other request for payment for completeness, accuracy, legality, and propriety.
Skills
Knowledge of arithmetic and required the ability to read, understand and follow oral and written instructions; communicate orally and in writing; and make arithmetic computations.
