Pre and Post Sales Engineer - Data Center Power
About the role

Responsibilities
- Serve as a domain authority for nVent Smart Power Solutions, including their application, for nVent functions including Sales, Product Management, and Operations.
- Provide first-line product support by assisting customers and colleagues with nVent Smart Power Solutions.
- Evaluate customer RFIs and RFQs as requested.
- Provide technical application assistance for pre- and post-sales for Smart Power Solutions.
- Work with the Smart Power Team to identify the best fit for products and services.
- Conduct product training for customers as needed via Teams and onsite.
- Prepare required documentation for pre-sales, post-sales, and RMAs.
- Lead strategic accounts from a support perspective.
- Review training literature for technical accuracy, including installation guides, operations manuals, and online learning.
- Represent nVent at industry events as needed.
- Provide market-specific intelligence and feedback on products and services to commercial teams.
- Assist commercial teams with voice-of-customer (VOC) visits.
- Plan activities together with the Sales Leader and team.
- Identify projects in the closing phase with the sales team and provide vital technical support.
- Advise your manager about significant situations, developments, and occurrences, as well as upcoming decisions requiring their approval.
While we have this role posted in multiple locations, we are only making 1 hire.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical, or applications engineering or equivalent work experience in the Data Center power industry.
- Ideally 5+ years of experience in a technical applications role supporting Data Center power solutions.
- Ability to work 100% remotely and travel on average 30-50% across mainly the US and Canada. A valid driver’s license is required.
- Strong technical background in Air and Liquid Cooling Solutions in the Data Center space is preferred.
- Understanding of Data Center Power Architecture from UPS to rack/equipment level is a plus.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a customer-first mentality.
The ideal candidate would live in the western US, but that can be flexed to central and eastern US for the right individual.

Pay
nVent’s pay scale is based on the expected range of total target cash pay for this job and the employee’s work location. Total target cash is comprised of an employee’s base salary and sales incentive target opportunity when annual sales goals are achieved. Employee pay within this range will be based on a combination of factors including knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, education, and performance. Where federal, state, or local minimum wage requirements exist, employee pay will comply. If annual sales performance exceeds annual sales goals, the total target cash received may exceed the pay scale maximum reflected below.
- Geographic Region A: $101,400.00 - $188,300.00
- Geographic Region B: $110,600.00 - $205,400.00
- Geographic Region C: $96,300.00 - $178,800.00
Depending on the position offered, the employee may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as annual incentives.
