Pre-Analytical Supervisor

About the role

The Pre-Analytical Supervisor supports internal and external customers in routine functions to ensure client satisfaction and proper records and materials management. This role works closely with staff to manage a team approach, train, coach, supervise, onboard new hires, and develop staff.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily operations of sample management including pre-accessioning, accessioning, transportation of samples, and block return
• Identify and address issues with specimen types, missing information, etc., and coordinate with relevant departments
• Ensure compliance with test ordering, requirements, and rejection criteria
• Track and report internal and external errors according to protocols
• Handle customer complaints and prepare metrics for monthly quality meetings
• Communicate effectively with all levels of staff and reflect good judgment in problem resolution
• Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to meet client satisfaction
• Support the development of strategic plans to meet commercial goals and objectives

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree preferably in a related field
• 3-5 years’ experience in laboratory accessioning
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Qualifications

• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
• Experience with laboratory information systems (LIS)

The final salary offered will be based on experience, skillset, and other factors. Additional incentives and bonuses may be available.

Schedule

The position is for the San Diego office and operates Tuesday - Saturday from 7:00 am - 3:30 pm.
